Dutch EV charging station company raises €7.7m for European network

Fastned, the Dutch company that is rolling out a European network of fast charging stations where all electric cars can charge, has raised 7.7 million euro in just two weeks via a public issue of bonds.

Fastned is building a European network of fast charging stations and currently has 63 stations operational. Volume (kWhs) and revenues have grown at a pace of around 10% month-on-month for two years; significantly outpacing the market.

"We are the Shell of the future, only our energy comes from the sun and the wind,” said co-founder and CEO Michiel Langezaal.

The company is building stations at high traffic locations along the highway and in cities, where electric cars can charge in 20 minutes.
