ENOC reveals the first of 50 new retail sites for the UAE

According to ENOC this new site is part of its expansion plans, which include the construction of 54 service stations by 2020.

The company further noted that the 3,716m2 (40,000 square feet) facility is equipped with six dispensers, built with retractable hoses to enable the refuelling of cars from both sides, and a fuel system that adheres to National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) safety standards.

Saif Humaid Al Falasi, chief executive officer of ENOC Group, commented: "The opening of the new service station falls within our long-term strategy to fulfil the UAE’s energy needs.

“Our vision as a national oil company is aligned with the Dubai Plan 2021 to create a smart and sustainable city for happy, creative, and empowered people.

With this opening, we hope to expand our retail network to cater to our customers’ needs."

The new facility also features UL-certified, double-wall tanks and double-wall fuel piping with secondary containment to safeguard against any environmental contamination.

The fuel system, meanwhile, is fully automated with auto tank gauging and electronic leak detection system, state news agency, WAM, reported.

The entire station is said to be built according to the green-build specifications as per Dubai Municipality’s regulations.

Other features of the new station include vapour recovery systems (VRS) to prevent and control emissions to the atmosphere, full LED lights installed at the site to reduce energy consumption by 50%, and VRF technology for the air conditioning (AC) system, which promises 35% energy savings, compared to conventional package AC systems.
