AT&T sign global networking agreement with Shell

AT&T and Shell have signed an agreement for the provision of managed communications and network integration services for Shell globally.

Under the agreement, AT&T will provide strategic services like network management and integration, global voice and data services, security, video and collaboration, and innovative solutions that will drive cost efficiencies whilst enabling a more agile, future-ready IT landscape.

AT&T, they say, will achieve this by delivering network capabilities and network integration services across multiple vendors that are designed to support virtualized services, cloud strategy and hybrid network solutions.

AT&T global integrated network solutions are available in countries that represent 99% of the world's economy.

Multinational businesses depend on AT&T's advanced networking expertise to support their business around the globe.

This is especially true for companies with a global footprint like Shell that includes many sites operating in difficult-to-access locations and/or under harsh weather conditions.

Shell employees will be able to depend on a secure, reliable network wherever they may access it. And they will be able to connect to one another—via instant messaging, voice, web and video conferencing, and application sharing.

"Shell needs global integrated network solutions accessible from just about every corner of the planet. We can offer that. And it's a task we take seriously," said Frank Jules, president Global Business at AT&T. "We're eager to continue the relationship and move forward into new areas of innovation with Shell."
