Shell completes fuel card system conversion onto Fleetcor platform

Fleetcor Technologies announced earlier this week that Shell has completed the conversion of its Shell-branded fuel card portfolios onto Fleetcor's Global FleetNet (GFN) fuel card management system in 37 countries across Europe and Asia.

GFN now serves as the single, unified fuel card management platform for Shell in these markets.

Prior to entering the agreement with Fleetcor, Shell used a proprietary legacy system to serve its commercial customers in Europe and Asia. The successful conversion marks the completion of the companies' efforts to move Shell onto a unified and advantaged card processing platform.

A spokesperson for Shell said his company chose Fleetcor's GFN system because of its unique feature set and ability to single-handedly serve customers across a multitude of countries and currencies, all while providing a global view into transactional activity.

"We are pleased to provide the underlying fuel card technology platform for Shell's commercial card business across Europe and Asia," said Ron Clarke, Fleetcor chairman and CEO. "Our GFN platform provides Shell with greater efficiency and visibility as it supports and grows its global card business."
