Repsol offloads its LPG business in Ecuador and Peru

According to Oil Voice; Spanish energy giant Repsol has entered a deal with the Chilean company Abastible to sell its LPG business in Peru and Ecuador. The transaction to Abastile for the Peruvian branch of the business is valued at 980 million Peruvian soles (USD 300 million*), while the company´s Ecuador business will be sold for USD 33 million. The deal is expected to close in the coming months, with the final price for the Peruvian branch pending on the correspondent dollar/sol exchange rate. Due to the variety of its portfolio of assets, especially after the acquisition of Canada´s Talisman, Repsol can now offload those parts of the business it considers non strategic. Repsol will continue to manage its operations regarding hydrocarbon exploration and production in Peru and Ecuador, as well as a refinery and 410 service stations in the former. According to Repsol, AutoGas is the most widely-used alternative fuel in the world, used in over 21 million vehicles.
