The government delegation of Laos offered participation in implementation of Laos-Vietnam pipeline construction project and development of a refinery in Laos, representative of the Russian Ministry of Energy told TASS .
"We are aware of Laos’ interest in participation of Russian companies in development of refining facilities in the country. The Laos government delegation held talks with the management of leading Russian oil and gas companies Rosneft, Lukoil and Gazprom EP International in the second half of April 2016," the official said. Russian companies are currently studying these proposals in terms of economic viability, he added.
Laos is a Southeast Asian country traversed by the Mekong River and known for its mountainous terrain, French colonial architecture, hill tribe settlements and Buddhist monasteries.
