The NRMA in Australia launches cheapest fuel app for motorists

The NRMA app features a ‘Fuel’ function where members can search for the cheapest fuel via price, location or fuel type. The prices are available in real time to offer real savings to motorists.

NRMA president Kyle Loades said fuel price data became available after the NSW Government’s outstanding petrol reforms. “The reforms are a considerable win for the state’s motorists and come following years of campaigning for greater fuel transparency by the NRMA,’’ Mr Loades said.

The NRMA is the first to publicly release the real-time fuel price data provided to the Fair Trading Department by about 2000 service stations across NSW.

It comes as NRMA analysis showed that a 7-Eleven service stations at Green Point and Kincumber were the cheapest service stations so far this year on the Coast, with an average price of 112.3 cents a litre for regular unleaded.

Mr Loades said the app would drive motorists to easily locate cheap service stations like these.
