NP filling station opened in Ganta, Liberia

The board chairman for the NP petroleum filling station in Liberia has called on the people of Nimba County to combat violence and help promote development in the country.

Speaking at the dedicatory ceremony of a branch of the filling station in Ganta, Nimba County Monday, board chairman of the company Mr. Francis Dennis, urged Nimbaians to see the investment as sign of development in their community.

Mr. Dennis said the presence of NP in the county will help to provide employment for youth in the county, adding that violence does not pay or bring about development. Commenting on the September 30, 2015 bloody riot in Ganta which lead to the death of 17-year-old Milton Wehygby and destruction of huge prosperities of businessman Mr. Prince Howard, Mr. Dennis such act did not bring in any development, but threw the economy of the city back rather than forward.

Also speaking at the ceremony, the police commander of Ganta, Adolphus Zuah called on citizens to seek re-dress thru the police than taking the law into their hands. According to commander Zuah, the September 2015 mob violence affected the police in Ganta, thereby destroying the only vehicle that was used to transport police officers to crime scenes and respond to other emergency cases in time.

He lamented that police in the county currently do not have access to vehicle, which is impending their work. Commander Zuah then appealed to the Management of NP filling station to help the police with vehicle to enable the force effectively fight crimes and maintain law and order.

The deputy managing director for the Liberia Petroleum Refining Company or LPRC Mr. Jackson F.Doe, Jr. commended "the presence of the filling station in Ganta will help boost economic activities in the city and create employment for residents The deputy LPRC boss then graded the NP as one of the best filling stations in the country, noting that NP gas station always pay its bills in time unlike other companies that are providing services here.
