Wal-Mart stores has begun building a filling station on the 6th floor

Wal-Mart Stores Inc. has begun construction of a new fuel station at its Wal-Mart Neighborhood Market in Decatur, Tennessee in the US.

A city building permit issued last week shows the construction work is expected to cost $1.05 million. The station will feature four pumps on two islands and a 754-sqaure-foot kiosk.

Wal-Mart's media relations department did not return a request for comment, and the city's development director, Wally Terry, said he wasn't sure when the station would open.

"There won't be much to the building itself. The biggest item is the tanks," he said.

The new fuel station is the latest in a string of new developments this year along the Sixth Avenue corridor.
