Shell to open erpec & idac 17 conference in Amsterdam with keynote presentation from senior global retail executive

Global Retail Engineering and General Manager of Shell International, Ruth Leach, has confirmed that Shell will be represented on the idac 17 speaker’s podium by a senior retailing figure, most probably, she says, herself, who will address over 200 international delegates participating at this important industry gathering.

Sian Davies, Conference Director for organisers McLean Events, says “this is really exciting news for everyone taking part in idac and erpec 17 and it is further recognition that both events are regarded around the world as being the leaders in their field”.

Other oil companies so far signed up to the speak, include Scandinavian retailer UNO X, who’s Managing Director Roger Hertzenberg will be on hand to co present, alongside Jari Sistonen of U Cont Oy, a session on Hydrogen refuelling networks. From Ireland, leading retailer Applegreen has put forward its COO Joe Barratt who will offer an independents perspective on retail network planning. Bob will be joined by other presenters on the subject of Retail Network Planning by Ian Thompson, Senior Vice President of Kalibrate and Luke Whittam, Asia Pacific Director of GMAP consulting.

Sian Davies added: “At idac 15 in London, we had no oil company speakers, which is maybe understandable for a first event, but this time around it has created a great deal of interest with people wanting to speak. We are hoping for at least three more big names from the oil companies to join as speakers before we close the list”.

There are four key segments of the idac 17 conference. Retail Network Planning, Technology & Big Data, Marketing and Re-Imaging and Alternative Fuel Solutions. A highlight of that mix include a session from the CEO’s of the major car Wash companies coming together on the stage for the first time, to discuss the synergies between the growth of non-fuel items on a fuel station and increased fuel revenue from the forecourt.
