Suicide Squad's Margot Robbie signs up as Nissan's first EV ambassador

She is best known for her role as the mad super villain Harley Quinn but in her latest role, Margot Robbie will be promoting electric vehicles for Japanese auto-maker Nissan.

Sticking to her action roots the latest promo video shows the actress negotiating the streets of Monaco in Nissan's all-electric Blade Glider.

A recent study of 2,500 American drivers listed awareness as one of the biggest problems facing the electric vehicle industry, so the promo appears to be a step in the right direction.

Commenting on the announcement, Robbie said: “It’s a really exciting time for electric vehicles. More people are choosing to go electric, leading the way to a more sustainable future and the Nissan BladeGlider hints at the future of smarter performance cars.”

The BladeGlider is a prototype and is not yet available to buy.

Robbie is actually not the first movie star to become an EV ambassador. Her The Wolf of Wall Street co-star Leonardo DiCaprio is promoting electric vehicles through the Formula E racing championship. He became Chairman of the championship’s Sustainability Committee last year.
