Indian government is planning to sell petroleum products online

Trying to leverage the benefits of IT,, Indian Oil Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said on Wednesday. that his government plans to put all petroleum products on the e-commerce platform

"Can we connect oil with IT and telecommunications? We plan to put all petroleum products on the e-commerce platform," Pradhan said while addressing the India Mobile Congress.

He also added that all statutory approvals from all concerned departments are in place. He shared a video and tweeted, “All petroleum Products to be on the e-commerce platform.”

The minister said there are four crore consumers as against one lakh retail outlets for petroleum products. He also said the industry has an annual turnover of Rs 6.5 lakh crore.

About 150 foreign delegates and eight embassies including the US, the United Kingdom, Finland, Sweden, and Israel had participated in the event.

Many of mobile phone companies including Vivo, Oppo, Nokia, Lava, LG, and Huawei had showcased their latest products,
