APEA Live warmly received by over 600 delegates

Celebrity host Quentin Willson expertly guided attendees through a stellar, record breaking edition of APEA Live in the UK on 23 November 2017. The former Top Gear and Fifth Gear TV presenter and award winning motoring journalist chaired the daytime Conference / Exhibition and evening Awards.

APEA Live achieved a daytime attendance which was 10% up on the previous year, with stakeholders from all corners of the petroleum market enjoying a vibrant Exhibition packed full of the leading forecourt suppliers.

The Conference, sponsored by Elaflex Ltd, which ran alongside the Exhibition, drew huge enthusiastic crowds. Insightful presentations from Jamie Thompson (Chairman, APEA Technical Committee), Aart van Rooijen (Commercial Director, BigBrother), Richie Bissett (Head of New Business for Ireland, HIM UK), John Diviney (UK Managing Director, Applegreen) and Jane Lindsay-Green (Future Fuels Manager, Shell UK Retail), centred on key current industry topics, such as energy transition (the road to 2040), forecourt site expansion and using consumer retail intelligence to drive improved sales.

Following a day of networking and debate the APEA Awards Dinner, sponsored by Nupi Industrie Italinae, delivered an evening of celebration, recognition and entertainment to 600 guests.

Eight awards were distributed to deserving winners (6 company, 2 individual) and a glittering evening closed with all guests on their feet to celebrate this year’s recipient of the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award, John Boudry.

Alex Boudry, APEA Events Committee Chair and Council Member, said “APEA Live took a big step forward in 2017 and we - the Events Committee and Council - were delighted with all its elements; the conference, exhibition and awards. The event surpassed last year across all its key benchmarks; exhibitor numbers, sponsor engagement, conference / exhibition delegates, awards attendees and awards entry submissions. The vibrancy and buzz around the daytime exhibition and conference was particularly pleasing to me, personally.
