Indonesia’s Pertamina looks abroad for expansion

State-owned oil firm Pertamina plans to build fuel stations in Timor Leste and has also expressed interest in supplying fuel to Myanmar. Pertamina plans to expand its business in neighbouring country Timor Leste by either building Pertamina-branded stations or engaging in a joint venture with Timor Leste’s government-owned companies. Vice President of Fuel Retail Marketing Afandi said that Pertamina has been operating a fuel terminal in Timor Leste’s capital Dili and has been supplying fuel to the country's fuel stations.

According to General Manager of Pertaminas southern Sumatra Regional Marketing Operation Herman M. Zaini, if the company won the Myanmar government tender, it will construct 1,360 public fuel stations in cooperation with state company Myanmar Petroleum Products Enterprise.
