Alderman Marcel van Zon of the municipality of Alkmaar and Stadswerk072 director Peter Mol officially commissioned the first Blue Diesel pump in North Holland. From now on, diesel drivers from Alkmaar can also drive fossil-free.
Blauwe Diesel has been on sale at the Tamoil Express stations inAkkrum, Drachten, Kollum, Leeuwarden, Marrum, Suameer, Winsum and Wolvega since April. After a successful test period at these Frisian petrol stations, Tamoil is looking into the possibilities of offering Blauwe Diesel to more of its stations outside of Friesland.
Blue Diesel B100 is an HVO, a Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil, which is produced entirely from renewable and sustainable raw materials. This diesel is completely fossil-free and low-emission. Blue Diesel is made from waste and residues. The raw materials are therefore not at the expense of the food chain, but have always served a food purpose first.
