Giant Food Stores marks opening of 100th fuel station in the US

“Opening our 100th fuel station is an important milestone in our growth strategy as we continue to expand our offerings and give our customers more ways to connect with the Giant brand,” said Kurt Hoeflein, the fuel station manager.

The new fuel station has a total of eight pumps, each with a Pay-at-the-Pump feature, and diesel fuel is also available. Giant gift cards can be redeemed at the grocer's fuel sites as well. The grocer’s associates have also taken part in an outdoor service project with the organization, which included the planting of 200 trees.

Plus, every time a customer fills up at a Giant fuel location, a portion of the money spent goes to the grocer’s reduced-emissions program in partnership with Atlanta-based GreenPrint. The initiative gives back proportionally to local communities through environmental projects such as planting trees while investing in carbon reductions projects like reforestation and solar power.

Carlisle, Pa.-based Giant Food Stores operates nearly 180 stores, 132 pharmacies, 99 fuel stations, and online grocery ordering and delivery services across Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia and West Virginia, employing more than 30,000 associates. Parent company Ahold Delhaize USA is No. 4 on Progressive Grocer’s 2018 Super 50 list of the top grocers in the United States.
