EVgo teams up with Chevron to install fast chargers at filling stations

Electric vehicle owners in California will now be able to charge their cars at select Chevron filling stations in the state.

EVgo has announced that it has teamed up with Chevron to install fast chargers at the latter’s select filling stations in California. These fast chargers will be of up to 100kW capacity.

“EVgo is helping everyone — including traditional fuel stations — take advantage of the benefits of EV adoption,” EVgo CEO Cathy Zoi said. EVgo’s chargers can already be found at select Chevron stations in Menlo Park and they’re also being constructed at various locations in Los Angeles and the Bay Area.

These fast chargers will be able to provide electric vehicles with up to 90 miles of range in 30 minutes. They are compatible with every vehicle that accepts DC Fast Charging.

It certainly makes sense to place them at conventional filling stations, particularly for highway drivers, since they can make their meal stops and bathroom breaks while their car gets charged up.
