Saudi petrol stations to implement e-payment soon

The Saudi Commercial Anti-Concealment National Program will implement the e-payment system in petrol stations starting from 17 July, according to the official account of the programme on Twitter.

In March, the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs urged petrol stations across the kingdom to join the Saudi Payments Network (Mada) that connects all ATMs and point-of-sale (POS) terminals in the country.

The move aims at promoting economic growth in Saudi Arabia, in addition to boosting investment activities by moving into a cashless society and by promoting the principal of financial inclusion.
