Adnoc waives Dh10 fee to have petrol pumped by attendant over summer

The Dh10 fee to have an Adnoc attendant pump your petrol is being waived for part of the day for all motorists in July and for select customers in August.

Adnoc said motorists registered with its smart pay Adnoc Wallet service will be offered free assisted refuelling between 11am to 5pm in July and August. Those not signed up to Adnoc Wallet will be offered free assisted refuelling this month only, with the option of registering for an account to have access to the free service throughout next month too.

Saeed Al Rashdi, acting chief executive of Adnoc Distribution, said the fees were waived for Adnoc Wallet customers “to make refuelling during the hottest part of the day more comfortable”

Motorists pay Dh10 to have an attendant pump their petrol for them, as well as wash their windscreen and check tyre pressures. The elderly and people with special needs are exempt from the charge and Adnoc previously said attendants are sensitive to others who may not be able to leave their car – people who are injured, for example, may be exempt from the Dh10 fee.

Self-service stations were introduced to allow motorists to pump their own petrol without paying a service charge.
