Wex Inc., a provider of vehicle fleet cards, announced a deal with Valero Energy Corp. to manage that company's proprietary fleet fuel cards and create new technologies by April 2020, including the ability to make mobile payments.
Valero, based in San Antonio, Texas, supplies more than 5,000 branded fuel stations across the U.S., and is the largest independent refiner in the country, with a combined throughput capacity of more than 3.1 million barrels a day.
We're excited for the addition of Valero to Wex's commercial fuel card portfolio and look forward to deepening the brand's value in its core markets," Brian Fournier, senior vice president of global fleet partners at Wex, said in a company release.
"This relationship positions us to help Valero grow commercial volume by providing best-in-class technology, sales and marketing to Valero's commercial programs, offering its fleet card customers a number of services and conveniences they have not had in the past."
