Dubai-based on-demand fuel delivery company Cafu expands to Oman

Cafu, the Dubai-based on-demand fuel delivery app (that claims to be first of its kind in the region) has signed an agreement with Oman-based Al Maha Petroleum to expand its service to Oman, it announced in a statement.

The move comes as part of Cafu’s international expansion strategy, with Oman being the first international market for the Dubai-headquartered company. We’ve learned that the company is also looking to expand to a few other markets in GCC and Egypt within the next twelve months but could not confirm this.

Cafu’s mobile app that’s available for both Android and iOS allows users to request the fuel tanks of their cars to be filled wherever the car is parked in Dubai, Sharjah, and Ajman.

The users are just required to leave the fuel cap of their car unlocked and they don’t have to be there at the time of delivery. According to its website, Cafu charges AED 18 ($4.9) for every fill-up or a monthly subscription fee of AED 26 ($7) for unlimited fill-ups.

“In the UAE, Cafu delivers quality petrol in both Super 98 and Special 95, which are supplied in safe custom-built vehicles straight to consumers’ homes, offices or anywhere their car might be parked – users need to only provide their car location and schedule time of their fuel delivery through the app,” the statement by Cafu noted.

The company will initially launch its services in Muscat and then roll out to other parts of Oman, it said in a statement without sharing the exact timeline. Cafu had launched in the United Arab Emirates in November 2018 and claims to have serviced over 760,000 customers since then.

Rashid Al Ghurair, Founder & CEO of Cafu, said, “Dubai is an internationally recognised testbed for groundbreaking technologies. We are humbled to be able to take our homegrown innovative services from Dubai to the world, starting today with Oman. Through our joint agreement with Al Maha Petroleum we will transform how people in Oman fuel their vehicles by digitalizing their entire experience.

“Along with our partners, we are confident that our technology combined with our growing fleet of safety-tested and certified trucks will deliver a one-of-a-kind convenience for our customers in Oman,” he added.

Hamed bin Salim Al Maghdri, CEO of Al Maha Petroleum, said, “Our partnership with CAFU will revolutionize the way our customers refuel their vehicles and represents us with the opportunity to grow our market share in the Omani market.

A proven concept in the UAE, we are confident that people in Oman are equally perceptive towards this innovative and digitally driven solution that will allow them to free up some of their spare time they would otherwise be spending on gas stations.”
