Petron profit surges on higher sales volumes

PETRON reported a consolidated first-quarter net income of P2.8 billion, more than 10 times the previous year’s level as sales from local and regional operations increased, the country’s biggest oil marketer said this month.

Total sales in the Philippines grew 8% in the first quarter, on the back of strong growth in reseller, industrial and LPG as well as the local lubricants sector.

This year, the company aims to further expand its network by building more than 250 new service stations in the country and in Malaysia. To date, it has nearly 2,800 stations in both countries.
