Romania's OMV Petrom, foodpanda sign food delivery deal

OMV Petrom said that it has signed a deal with the local unit of food delivery platform foodpanda for the delivery of food products to its fuel stations.

"The partnership started in June this year, as part of a pilot project that targeted five OMV filling stations in Cluj. It has been very well received, with products deliveries that were made within a 30 minute timeframe," OMV Petrom retail manager George Daniel Ion said, as quoted in a company statement.

Currently, the service is available in ten cities "Foodpanda is diversifying its proximity trade offer by expanding the partnership with OMV Petrom," foodpanda Romania managing director Andreea Petrisor said.

OMV Petrom is the largest energy company in Southeast Europe, with an annual group hydrocarbon production of 55.4 million boe in 2019 and a refining capacity of 4.5 million tons annually.

The group is also present on the oil products retail market in Romania and neighboring countries through 800 filling stations, at the end of June 2020, under two brands – OMV and Petrom.

Foodpanda Romania is part of Germany-based Delivery Hero Group which operates in more than 40 markets. In Romania, foodpanda is currently collaborating with more than 4,100 restaurants in 32 cities.
