Hubject & Enel X streamline charging payments

Hubject has selected Enel X Financial Services, a subsidiary of Enel X, to provide financial services for payments between charging point operators (CPOs) and e-mobility service providers (EMPs) on its Intercharge eRoaming platform.

The service, called Intercharge Settlement, will provide an automated, future-proof payment and invoicing solution and will be available in all eurozone countries by the end of this year.

The aim of the new service is to reduce B2B process costs and help improve the profitability of all partner companies involved. Hubject says the partnership is also expected to facilitate “eRoaming as a key enabler of the widespread adoption of electric vehicles”.

The fully integrated end-to-end financial B2B service will enable CPOs to directly determine B2B tariffs for billing processes and automate the billing and invoicing process with EMPs. The new billing solution should eliminate the error-prone manual activities in rating, invoicing and payment processes.

The solution also provides a platform for online conflict resolution and insights into reporting data. It also improves payment security and the control of operating costs.

Giulio Carone, CEO of Enel X Financial Services, said: “This long-term partnership is an important step towards positioning our company as a leading player in the financial services market. This agreement with Hubject, testimonies our commitment to innovative solutions focused on a customer centricity approach built upon the traditional energy commodity model.

The Fintech platform we have implemented opens the way to new business models enabling interoperability between different ecosystems.”

Hubject says that the solution is the first fully integrated end-to-end financial B2B settlement service within the e-mobility sector. Just last year Enel X decided to participate in the Hubject joint venture.

Enel X has closed numerous interoperability agreements through Hubject’s eRoaming platform which has enabled the Italian renewable energy and charging services provider to broaden the public charging network available to its customers throughout Europe.
