Rumors speculate that Couche-Tard may be close to reaching an acquisition agreement for CST Brands
Alimentation Couche-Tard is reported to be close to reaching a deal to acquire CST Brands, according to a report by the Financial Post. The deal is expected as soon as this week. But the Wall Street Journal said other bidders, such as 7-Eleven or Marathon Petroleum, could still acquire the retail giant out from under Couche-Tard. CST Brands is said to be worth at least $3.4 billion.
Couche-Tard operates in Canada, the U.S. and Europe under a range of banners including Couche-Tard, Mac’s, Kangaroo Express, Topaz, Ingo and Circle K brands.
