CCPC clears Maxol’s acquisition of Esso fuel service stations

Maxol in Ireland has been cleared by the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC) for the acquisition of three fuel service stations which were formerly owned by Esso.

These latest additions will increase the company fuel service stations to 230 across the country. Brian Donaldson, incoming Group Chief Executive Maxol said: “This year is particularly exciting for Maxol as the success of our expansion strategy is evident in our multiple site openings of late and those in the pipeline. We are delighted to now add these three quality Leinster locations to our growing fuel retail network.

“We have been keen to strengthen our presence in Leinster and these fuel service stations will allow Maxol to serve a great many new customers in Ireland’s most densely populated region.

“The future for Maxol represents more exciting developments and investment across the country as we continue with our innovative approach to forecourt convenience retailing. “We look forward to making further announcements in the very near future.”
