Bulgaria puts the block on selling low-quality fuel

Bulgaria´s authorities carried out a major inspection into the country´s fuel stations this month, preventing the distribution of 29,000 litres of fuel from Bulgarian fuel pumps, by shutting down many filling stations due to low quality fuel. The investigations are taking place in the country´s capital city Sophia and fifteen other regional centers, with officials from the Ministry of Interior, National Revenue Agency (NAP), the national customs agency, State Agency for Metrological and Technical Surveillance and the State Agency for National Security (DANS) in charge of the operation, reported Novinite. Around fifty filling stations were selected for inspections, which were aimed at detecting irregularities at the fuel retailing points such as VAT evasion or low quality fuel.
