On 6 July Scheidt & Bachmann invited key figures from the fuel retail market and major oil companies to join the first “Experts’ Panel UK” at The Goring Hotel in London.
The fuel station market is changing and convenience retail plays a strong role. Systems are moving towards flexible cloud-based solutions and mobile applications are becoming increasingly important. Now is the time to set the course and start moving towards a networked world.
The “Experts’ Panel” was designed to give the participants a glimpse into the future of the petrol station. During the event, participants discussed innovative solutions with top experts from the petrol and associated industries and shared their vision and ideas of how they could be implemented and the associated benefits they will bring.
Simon Stocks (IFSF) moderated the event which was hosted by Jörg M. Heilingbrunner, Managing Director of Scheidt & Bachmann GmbH, who gave an introduction on which factors influence the fuel station market today. Guest speakers included Rasha ElKhalili (Shell) on how digital services will enhance the customer experience at petrol stations. Brian Madderson (PRA) talked about forecourt retailing opportunities in the UK; Joachim Hauser, BMW, gave an outlook on future mobile concepts; and Michael Lenders (Scheidt & Bachmann) demonstrated from a system integrator point of view what the site system of the future will look like and what is already possible today.
The premier event was a great success and will surely be continued in the coming years.
