Scheidt & Bachmann “Experts Panel 2017” was another great success

Scheidt & Bachmann organized the second Experts Panel in Moenchengladbach on 11 and 12 September. Under the motto "Petrol station 4.0 - digitization of the business models" many interesting future aspects in the field of mobility and petrol station were considered. Our guests were able to make an excursion into the world of electro mobility and modern convenience retail concepts. We learned a lot about highly innovative approaches to customer loyalty as well as about the future of attractive shop design. We also gained valuable insights into the customer requirements and mobility concepts of tomorrow.

Under the motto "petrol station 4.0" Mr. Hans Jürgen Krone moderated throughout the event in the usual professional matter. At the beginning, Mr. Joerg Heilingbrunner pointed out the key factors that have big influences on the industry and called on the industry to jointly solve the challenges. Afterwards, Alexander Hentschke, head of the petrol station business, Esso Deutschland GmbH, took a look at mobility scenarios of the future. Mathias Wiecher, Head of Global Domain Electromobility, E.ON SE, presented in his lecture "Energy of Tomorrow - Innovative Supply Concepts / Collaboration Ideas with the Petrol Station Industry" possible approaches on how to efficiently implement electro charging facilities at a petrol station. Wieslaw Milkiewicz, Managing Director, Orlen Germany, spoke about new shop concepts in his presentation "Innovative shop concepts at petrol stations - how to reinvent Star" and Nicolas von Sobbe, Director Digital, McDonald's Deutschland LLC explained under the headline "The future restaurant - how a new restaurant experience is created by digitization" very vividly how McDonald's approaches new ways to customer loyalty. Finally, we were able to find out how Deutsche Post has turned into a successful electric car engineer! In his presentation "The StreetScooter story - why Deutsche Post is producing its own electric fleet", Dr Jörg Salomon, Vice President of StreetScooter, explained the various success factors of the new electric vehicles. How Scheidt & Bachmann draws up on the various trends in the area of digitization, Dr Michael Lenders explained in his lecture "Petrol Station 4.0 - our roadmap for the digitization of filling station IT".

The interest was again great and expressed itself in lively discussions and contributions from the circle of participants. We are already looking forward to the next Experts Panel in the coming year.
