Renewable energy company Storm and mobility player Q8 are launching the first network of full-service fast charging stations in Belgium.
In a unique partnership, the companies will jointly build up to 200 fast charging stations at new locations.
"We combine our expertise in renewable energy, mobility and shopping experience to create a unique customer experience for electric car users," say Sven Dochez, Director Supply & Innovation at Q8, and Jan Caerts, CEO of Storm.
The new fast charging stations from Storm and Q8 electric will be provided in visible and easily accessible prime locations throughout the country, both on major traffic axes and in the vicinity of urban centres. Half of them will have their own shop, a wide range of sandwiches and premium coffee.
For these facilities, we work together with partners such as Delhaize and Panos, with whom Q8 has extensive experience in its petrol stations. A quarter of them will also have a quick-service restaurant. The roll-out, at a pace of 40 new locations per year or an average of one every ten days, will start in the summer of 2024.
