Eurowag, a European provider of integrated road transport solutions, announced that it has started distributing HVO100 renewable diesel at its own Eurowag service station in Austria.
The purpose of this initiative is "to enable hauliers to easily reduce emissions produced by road transport. Unlike other low- or zero-emission solutions, such as bioLNG or battery or hydrogen propulsion, HVO100 biofuel does not require fleet renewal," company sources said in a press release.
HVO100, obtained from fully renewable sources, has enormous potential in commercial freight transport. Indeed, its ability to be easily recharged in existing Euro 6 diesel engines considerably simplifies the adoption of low-emission solutions by hauliers.
Highlighted as "the most sustainable fuel available today for diesel vehicles", HVO100 outperforms conventional diesel by reducing CO emissions2 by up to 90%, particulate matter and hydrocarbons by 30%, carbon monoxide by 24% and nitrogen oxides by 9%, according to Eurowag.
