Jio-BP to add 250 fuel outlets this year

Reliance BP Mobility Limited (RBML), a joint venture between Reliance Industries and BP, has ambitious plans for expansion.

Currently retailing compressed bio-gas (CBG) and Bio-CNG (B-CNG) at its outlets in western India, RBML aims to expand this offering to 250 outlets. By the end of 2024, they plan to have a total of 1,950 fuel retail outlets, including the addition of 250 new outlets.

Compressed Biogas (CBG), a green fuel produced from waste and biomass sources, shares properties with Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) and can be used for automotive, industrial, and commercial purposes.

Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) is setting up biogas facilities in Uttar Pradesh using surplus agricultural residue and organic waste, which will be linked to a network of biogas dispensing stations operated by Reliance Jio BP.

Additionally, Jio-BP is committed to doubling its EV charging points. Currently having 4,200 charging points, they plan to expand this to over 7,500 to 8,000 charging points by the end of this year. Notably, they aim to use 70% of the EV charging through green power
