The first Circle-K shop in Germany will be officially opened today in Berlin. Here, German customers get a foretaste of the well-known Circle-K range of food, beverages and convenience, which will be introduced nationwide after a test phase.
"Many people in Germany may know Circle K from their vacations in Northern Europe, North America or other countries. We are all the more pleased that we can now offer our services on the German market," says Christian Howe, Vice President of Circle K in Germany.
Howe is "particularly proud" of the wide range of shops, which are available to customers around the clock. "This means that we are in no way inferior to the Späti or kiosk in terms of offer and attractiveness! Of course, customers can still refuel and wash their cars with us. Our vision is to become the preferred destination for energy and convenience," Howe said,
In January, the Canadian convenience store company Alimentation Couche-Tard, which is behind the global brand Circle K, acquired the German petrol station and fuel card business of Total Energies (we reported). The market entry in Germany is an important next step in Circle K's growth strategy in Europe.
Two more Circle K Shops will soon be opened in Berlin, which will also act as pilot stations. In the coming weeks and months, Circle K will test new product offerings in the shops and will tailor them to the needs of German consumers. The most popular and successful food, beverage and convenience innovations are to be incorporated into the further development of the German market.
In total, Circle K has a network of around 1,200 filling stations in Germany. Under a brand and supply agreement for the fuel business, service stations will be operated under the Total Energies brand. The Circle K brand intends to expand its range in the next few years with new shop and washing concepts and new branding.
