Some of the Canada's largest gas station chains are struggling to sell off locations years ahead of an EV mandate, reports The Globe and Mail.
While single stations remain desirable for individuals keen on owning their own businesses, large-scale networks aren’t getting interest from buyers.
For example, Suncor gave up on selling its Petro-Canada network when it couldn’t get its asking price, and Irving Oil has had around 1,000 stations for sale for nearly a year.
By 2035, all new cars and trucks sold in Canada are required to meet zero-emission standards.
