ENI takes a leap in Spain by buying Atenoil

Italian oil group ENI continues to take steps to strengthen its presence in Spain, for which it is going to enter the capital of Atenoil, a company that operates 24 service stations in the centre and south of the country under different brands, from the UK based Marcol fund.

Atenoil had been looking for a majority shareholder for some time, and finally, Eni has joined the fever of low-cost gas stations. The transaction is still pending clearance from the competition authorities.

Atenoil has a significant presence in Madrid, where it sells around 100 million liters of fuel per year. In addition to the sale of fuel, Atenoil offers other services such as car washes and the sale of food and beverages.
