Air Products is to build a network of hydrogen filling stations running the length of California, the company said this week.
Air Products said each filling station in the network would be “permanent, commercial-scale and multi-modal” with enough capacity to fill 200 heavy-duty vehicles such as trucks or buses per day, or 2,000 cars.
The company also promised “enhanced fuelling technology” capability, including significantly higher capacity, multiple fuelling dispensers and the ability to serve both heavy- and light-duty vehicles.
However Air Products did not reveal how many units it plans to build in total, or a timeline for bringing them on line.
