Hundreds of new fuel stations for Mexico

An in depth article published this week in Mexican newspaper El Sol de Mexico, Oxxo have announced that it plans to double the number of service stations it has in the next ten years, according to David González, operations manager of Oxxo Gas.

In an interview with the publication he commented that the construction of new stations would be under two premises: placing them in easily accessible points and where the entire current ecosystem that the company has can be used, such as its fintech arm, service payments and more.

The company currently has 570 retail fuel stations in 17 states across the country. Its presence is concentrated mainly in the north and, according to David González, once the brand is established in this region, it will gradually begin its expansion.

“For the long term we bring an aggressive aspiration to grow. In five or 10 years we would like to double the number of stations, reaching a thousand would be the aspiration we have,”.

According to González, the short-term goal is to strengthen the market in Nuevo León. But to install more service stations it will be necessary to consolidate the brand's presence in the country, or at least where it currently operates.
