Global fuelling company Puma Energy has entered the Ghanaian fuel retailing market through acquisition. According to a representative from the company, Puma has acquired the shares of oil marketing company UBI, which has granted them initial ownership over 18 fuel stations. The stations will be rebranded to the Puma brand, an important operator in the African market.
“We have received approval from the NPA to change the name UBI to Puma Energy; and that, of course, will go hand in hand with rebranding the fuel stations. You will now see the Puma Energy brand coming up in Ghana,” said Puma CEO Christophe Zyde. Puma Enery talks about the energy prospects of Ghana on its website stating that Ghana has become one of Africa’s leading oil and gas producers, currently exporting 110,000 barrels a day and a key midstream location.
