Pennsylvania retailer Pump N’ Pantry has sold its 14-store business to United Refining Company. The stores will be integrated into United’s Kwik Fill / Red Apple chain.
Pump N’ Pantry, a Montrose, Pennsylvania-based company, was founded in 1975 when Tom Quigg purchased Seddon Lathrop Oil Company after a career at Esso. At the time, the company was focused on residential heating oil distribution and had two retail fuel locations. In 1988, Quigg sold the legacy heating oil business and rebranded as Pump N’ Pantry to shift toward retail operations.
United Refining Company is an independent refiner and marketer of petroleum products with over 350 retail outlets in Pennsylvania, Ohio and New York, which include service station and convenience stores, truck stops, restaurants and garages. The locations are branded Kwik Fill / Red Apple Food Marts and Country Fair.
