France is making significant strides in hydrogen-powered haulage, aiming to decarbonize the transport sector. A key development is the establishment of the first centre of excellence for hydrogen trucks in Villabé, just south of Paris.
This centre includes a green hydrogen refuelling station and a maintenance facility dedicated to hydrogen-powered heavy goods vehicles (HGVs).
The refuelling station, supplied by Lhyfe, offers fast refuelling with a compression capacity of 350 bars, which will eventually be increased to 700 bars. The first hydrogen trucks retrofitted by Hyliko are already in operation, marking a significant step towards zero-emission haulage.
This initiative is part of a broader effort to achieve carbon neutrality in transport, with green hydrogen produced through the electrolysis of water powered by renewable energy.
