L.Eclerc to sell fuel at cost price in France

Major supermarket E.Leclerc will sell fuel at cost price in France over three separate weekends this summer – which included last weekend, in order to entice customers to the checkouts.

More than 700 service stations run by the supermarket will sell fuel at cost price, with the company posting on X, formerly Twitter, prices per litre of fuel would be β€œat least 12c or 13c cheaper,” than petrol stations run by TotalEnergies.

President of the company Michel-Édouard Leclerc said the service stations taking part would be spread around France, allowing both those leaving for summer holidays, and those remaining in rural areas less tourists visit, will benefit. .

Fuel will also be sold at cost price at E.Leclerc sites on the weekends of August 2 - 4, and 16 - 18.
