Hindustan Petroleum Corporation has partnered with Mooving to establish battery swapping stations at over 22,000 HPCL fuel stations across India. This collaboration is set to revolutionise the electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure in the country, providing extensive support for EV users.
Mooving will deploy more than 500 automated battery swapping stations within the next year, leveraging its fully automated, man-less technology. This initiative aims to enhance convenience and efficiency for EV owners, potentially setting a new industry standard. The rollout is expected to accelerate the adoption of electric mobility across the nation by offering reliable and accessible battery swapping solutions.
HPCL’s extensive network of retail outlets and its commitment to decarbonising the mobility sector make this partnership particularly impactful. HPCL has already installed over 3,700 EV charging stations across India, addressing range anxiety for EV users. HPCL is poised to expand its green mobility services, contributing significantly to the growth of the green economy.
Pritesh Talwar, President of Lectrix EV and Mooving, highlighted the importance of this partnership in transforming India’s EV landscape. He noted that combining Mooving’s innovative technology with HPCL’s vast network will create one of the largest automated battery swapping networks in India. This move will also foster innovation and create new job opportunities within the EV ecosystem, further supporting the country’s transition to sustainable transportation.
