The rampant skepticism about electric cars in Germany also seems to be a generational phenomenon, as a survey on e-mobility conducted by the ADAC car insurance company in the summer shows., according to Sprit magazine.
According to the survey, 29 percent of the drivers surveyed between the ages of 18 and 29 believe that their next car will be electrically powered. Among those over 50, the figure is only nine percent.
Among those under 30, more than half are basically open to buying an electric car. In addition to the 29 percent who will "definitely or probably" opt for an electric car the next time they change cars, 28 percent would "possibly" do so.
Among those over 50, only 18 percent gave this answer. Younger drivers are also further ahead when it comes to the use of electric cars. Twelve percent of those under 30 regularly drive electrically, compared to only four percent of those over 50.
