Q8 and renewable energy company Storm opened the first four of the total of two hundred planned Q8 electric fast charging stations in Belgium on Wednesday. The first full-service fast charging stations with shops and restaurants will also open in the first quarter of 2025.
"This is a great step in the expansion of our fast charging network throughout Belgium," said CEO Jan Caerts of Storm at the opening ceremony at the charging station in Aalter. "These stations are the perfect example of the kind of location we have in mind: right next to the motorway and at a junction of busy regional roads with a lot of traffic."
According to Q8 managing director Frank Rouwens, the next fast charging stations are already planned. "Our first full-service fast charging stations with shop and restaurant will open in the first quarter of 2025 in Heusden-Zolder, with a restaurant, and in Stekene with a restaurant and a shop.
In addition, we are also looking at plenty of additional charging options and even separate charging plazas at existing petrol stations."
