The end for Edeka Convenience in Germany

German shop wholesale distributer Lekkerland, is to talk to JET about a future cooperation. JET petrol stations confirmed to this week.

Edeka Convenience will probably disappear from the market as one of the major industry players in Germany as, according to Sprit magazine, the company could not get out of the red financially.

Lekkerland are likely to supply the shops of the approximately 800 JET petrol stations in Germany as early as January 2025. With JET as a new customer, Lekkerland could significantly expand its position as the number one petrol station supplier.

However, the German JET petrol station network is for sale and according to industry insiders, a US convenience business wants to buy the network.

Similarities to the purchase of the network of Total Energies filling stations are obvious: The stations were also bought by a pure convenience company, namely Couche Tard (Circle K brand).
