Apple CEO Tim Cook has announced that the company will be introducing Apple Pay compatible Speedpass+ touchless payment system at all ExxonMobil gas stations in the U.S. During Apple´s quarterly earnings call, Cook revealed that ExxonMobil´s Speedpass+ payment app for smartphones will now support Apple devices, which means iPhone users will be able to pay directly at the pump with their phones. ExxonMobil´s exclusive app Speedpass+ already functions in over 5,000 of the company´s gas stations, according to Apple Insider. Rival fuel operator Chevron started using Apple Pay at the pump in the summer of 2015 with a pilot program in the Bay Area. Customers can just scan their phones or Apple Watch at pump and get back on the road.
