Circle K celebrates 500 EV chargers in Denmark

Peter Nicholson Christensen Peter Nicholson Christensen, Director NDO Forecourt at Circle K Europe NDO Forecourt at Circle K Europe writes;

It all began with the first charging station at Slet in Aarhus in December 2020. Now, almost four years later, we have reached fast charging point number 500 in Nordhøj, Køge 😲

At Circle K, we have invested in fast chargers from the start, first with 300 kW and now up to 400 kW. With the powerful charging stations, the charging break takes only 20-30 minutes, so electric car drivers can quickly get back on the road.

Reaching 500 charging points is a milestone that we could never have reached without our exceptional team – many of them are in the picture here. Their commitment has driven the process from A to Z: from planning the placement of stations and developing our Charge app to handling tasks such as establishment, adapting parking rules and marketing the fast chargers. And we're not done at all!

The transition to electric cars is happening faster than expected, and this means that by 2030, we expect 930,000 electric cars on the roads in Denmark. This places greater demands on the charging providers, which is why we have upgraded our goal to reach 2000 charging points by 2030 – as much as 700 more than originally planned. We have set the course for a greener future

A big thank you to Lasse, Trine, Martin, Søren, Peter, Cecilie, Jimmi, Jesper, Jonas, Henrik, Savas – and also to Sisse and Adrien who have energized the team.
