Vivo Energy Botswana launches first Welcome Shop

Vivo Energy Botswana, the company that distributes and markets Shell branded products and services, has unveiled ‘welcome’, its first warm and modern own shop brand, at Shell Marang service station (opposite Trade Centre), Donga, in Francistown.

‘Welcome’ is a new convenience retail brand, developed by Vivo Energy, especially for its service stations across the African market to meet the changing needs of customers. The new ‘welcome’ shop promises to give customers “more than they expect” as it conveys a sense of hospitality, optimism and dynamism to meet the needs of customers.

The ‘welcome’ brand will be progressively rolled out to various Shell service stations across the country. Shell Marang is the first service station in Vivo Energy Botswana’s retail network to introduce a ‘welcome’ shop as part of a wide range of services complementing the existing business and clearly aligned with its growth aspirations.

‘Welcome’ offers convenience, variety and optimum satisfaction to customers. The ‘welcome’ shops will have a shopping area, an eatery where customers can get a quick snack as well as other exciting offers.

Speaking on behalf of the Managing Director of Vivo Energy Botswana, Oscar Isaacs, Supply & Distribution Manager, said: “The opening of ‘welcome’ convenience stores is a testimony to the real convenience that we want to bring to our customers.

As Vivo Energy Botswana, we are undertaking an expansion plan to offer more service and value at our service stations in order to meet our customers’ needs. ‘Welcome’ is our very own warm modern convenience retail shop brand aimed to offer convenience, variety and optimum satisfaction to our customers.”

“Our objective is to bring the Shell brand closer to the people of Botswana by responding to the ever changing customer needs through providing them with high quality fuels, lubricants, shops, and other convenience retail products like quick service restaurants. Part of this objective also involves bringing new and exciting shop formats in the convenience retail space that provide customers with options and provide them with more offerings and more experiences.”

On giving a key note address at the official opening, Francistown City Mayor, Honourable Sylvia Muzila, applauded Vivo Energy Botswana for this new development which brings benefits to the community as well as valuable employment opportunities to the youth of the area.

She encouraged the management and colleagues of Vivo Energy Botswana to pride themselves on excellent customer service and to continue providing the country with a wide variety of their convenience retail offer.

Today’s launch of a new shop brand format is in line with Vivo Energy’s objective to continually lead the innovation drive to meet the changing needs of customers, and further reiterate its leading position in convenience retailing in the energy sector, within the country and Africa at large.
