The hundredth Belgian petrol station with Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) was opened near Leuven at a branch of DATS24, the fuel supplier owned by the Colruyt supermarket chain.
According to government figures, there are currently 10,960 CNG vehicles on the roads in Belgium. Already today, they can fill up in more than 1 out of 4 municipalities in Flanders.
The number of CNG stations is expected to rise over the next few years, also in the French-speaking part of the country.
