22 hydrogen stations to close in Germany

H2 MOBILITY, a leading provider of hydrogen refuelling stations, is to close 11 small 700-bar hydrogen refuelling stations in Germany by March 31, 2025, with an additional 11 closures by the end of the second quarter. These closures are part of a network consolidation that began in 2022.

The stations in Neuruppin, Bonn, Flensburg, Geisingen, Potsdam, Ulm, Siegen, Aachen, Bad Rappenau, Heidelberg (Speyerer Straße), and Mönchengladbach will be shut down.

Martin Jüngel, Managing Director & CFO of H2 MOBILITY, stated: “As we celebrate our 10th anniversary, the hydrogen mobility market in Germany has undergone significant changes. Our strategic focus has shifted to expanding hydrogen infrastructure for light and heavy commercial vehicles based on regional demand.

Older stations designed for passenger cars, some over 10 years old, no longer meet today’s standards and will be removed.”
